Two separate school bus crashes near West Palm Beach on Wednesday resulted in one dead and several students transported to a hospital.
Fire Rescue officials say one motorcyclist is dead after crashing into a school bus in Greenacres on Wednesday morning.
Reportedly, the crash happened just after 7 a.m. near the intersection of Jog Road and Forest Hill Boulevard.
Authorities say there were four children and a bus driver on the bus during the crash, but no one on the school vehicle was injured.
Fire Rescue crews at the scene said the motorcyclist did not appear to have been wearing a helmet. The man was pronounced dead.
Witnesses say the motorcycle briefly caught fire.
Another school bus crash happened on Wednesday afternoon in Riviera Beach. The hit-and-run collision sent five students to an area hospital.
There were approximately 20 students on the bus at the time of the collision. The remaining 15 students were picked up by their parents.
The wreck also involved a U-Haul truck and happened on Blue Heron Boulevard at about 5 p.m.
There is no word on whether or not police have been able to locate the hit-and-run driver.
Both school bus crashes occurred within about 20 miles of each other.
