A cool front will make its way through South Florida on Friday. The system will present with breezes and cooler temps for the weekend.
Both Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be partly to mostly sunny and cooler, with highs in the 70’s and lows in the 50s. Inland areas of the Treasure Coast could see lows in the 40’s.
New Year’s Eve should be pleasant, but cool, as temperatures won’t likely climb beyond the low 60’s. Outdoor events such as fireworks will likely go off without issue. Just remember to add a layer if you want to be comfortable.
The snap of chills for this weekend is just the beginning. A stronger front is scheduled to begin on New Year’s Day. There will be an increased chance for rain (around 50%) later on Monday with highs hovering in the upper 70’s.
Forecasters expect a gradual cool down to take place which will plunge temps to below normal as we head into Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of next week.
Even with a cold front, the weather in South Florida is the envy of the rest of the nation. Record snow falls and sub-zero wind chills are far removed from our mild winter climate.
