Millions watch the dynamic duo of Chip and Joanna Gaines on HGTV’s Fixer Upper. But the “realest” of reality stars are taking a break from their hit show.
Chip and Jo announced today that the upcoming fifth season of Fixer Upper will be their last. The news broke on their Magnolia Market website.
First reaction? “Say it ain’t so!” How could the couple who shot to superstardom leave us now?
For those who really get the whole lifestyle of the Gaineses understand is not just a brand, it’s their true way of life. Simply put: they’re choosing family over fame.
Word from sources connected to HGTV is that the Fixer Upper franchise may still continue to grow, just not with the beloved power couple at the helm.
The cornball antics of Chip and smart designs of Joanna will continue on different venues such as the release of Chip’s first book, Capital Gaines: Smart Things I Learned Doing Stupid Stuff, in October, and an exclusive line of products designed for Target.
Without a doubt, it takes massive courage to leave an empire-building, number-one-rated t.v. show at the peak of its success, but it looks like these guys are doing it for all of the right reasons.
What else would we expect from Chip and Joanna Gaines? Best of luck!
