“The President is Missing,” is the title of their new mystery novel. But there is no mystery surrounding the whereabouts of former U.S. President Bill Clinton, who will be appearing with famed author James Patterson at the Broward Center in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday, June 12. The two will host “A Conversation With President Clinton and James Patterson” to discuss their highly-anticipated writing collaboration.
Patterson, who has topped the New York Times bestseller list no fewer than 35 times, is a resident of Palm Beach, which may have helped encourage the South Florida stop on the pair’s 18-location book tour.
Although he has written non-fiction including the international #1 bestseller, “MY LIFE,” this is Clinton’s first novel and freshman effort with Patterson. Their resulting tale is “full of twists and turns, kind of like being president,” promises Patterson.
The former president is hesitant to reveal many details about the storyline of the thriller, which is scheduled for release on June 4, but facetiously equates the book’s exhilarating ride with his gig as Commander in Chief.
In a video trailer for the book, Patterson and Clinton concede what may be a given from the title; the focus revolves around “A United States president who’s involved in a terrifying world crisis, and goes missing.”
