Fort Pierce woman says Cocaine blew into her purse on windy day

Kennisia Posey Fort Pierce Florida Saint Lucie County

According to police reports, Kennicia Posey of Fort Pierce, Florida tried to use a windy day as an excuse for having a small bag of cocaine in her purse. The 26-year-old was a passenger in a car pulled over for a traffic stop. The officer stated there was a strong scent of marijuana. Upon searching the vehicle, both marijuana and cocaine were found in Posey’s handbag. Posey said the pot was hers, but the cocaine must have blown in through an open car window and landed in her purse.

During the March 26 traffic stop, the woman claimed she had no idea where the drug came from, but caught the officer’s attention by reminding him it was a windy day.

‘It must have flown through the window and into my purse,’ she said.

The Fort Pierce Police did not buy Kennisia Posey’s theory of what might have caused the cocaine to be in her purse, which was on her lap. They took her into custody to the St. Lucie County Jail where she was charged with one felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanor count of marijuana possession.

She was later released on bond.
