Husband of murdered Boynton Beach woman arrested
Six months ago, thirty-three-year-old Makeva Jenkins of Boynton Beach was fatally shot inside her family’s home.
In September, police arrested Joevan Joseph, now 20, and charged him with murder in the case. Then on Thursday, Makeva Jenkins’ husband, Euri Jenkins, was also arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
The thirty-one-year-old husband was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Service. Jenkins announced his innocence as he was being transported to the Palm Beach County Jail.
Details surrounding the husband’s involvement allegedly linking him to the June 29 murder of his wife, was not made available.
The tragic event which ended the life of Makeva Jenkins, a promising entrepreneur, was thought by investigators to have been a home invasion. The shooter was reportedly wearing a mask when he shot Jenkins as she opened the front door of her home located near Santaluces High School.
Her husband and at least two of her children were inside the family home at the time of the shooting. No other injuries were reported.
The family of the deceased held a press conference in August, prior to any arrests in connection with the case. Euri Jenkins was not involved with the conference and the family maintained that they were not in contact with him.
Neither a motive for the murder nor a link between Euri Jenkins and Joevan Joseph is known.
