Royal Palm Beach: Intruders enter home, hold 2 victims at gunpoint, sexually assault one victim, steal car during robbery.
Just before 3 a.m., three unknown armed men broke into a Royal Palm Beach residence in the 200 block of Sandpiper Way.
Reports say the three suspects physically bound two victims and sexually assaulted one. The men ransacked the home and stole items including the victims’ vehicle.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office calls the event a “heinous crime.”
Autte Gudrian, a neighbor, stated the 92-year-old victim came to his home for help after the atrocity.
“She said she woke up, somebody came into her bedroom, shined a real bright light in her face, and told her not to move, pointed a gun at her,”
“They had bandanas across their face,” Gudrian said the woman told him. She asked him to call 911. “They had tied her up with telephone cord,” he said. “And she still had the cords around her hand and one leg.”
Neighbor Jerry Allison was also awakened by a knock on his door.
“I think it’s horrible just totally devastating for her, but especially at that age my god you don’t need that.”
“They went out into the rest of the house, searched her house,” Allison recalled. “They wanted to know where the money was. She tried to get out through the bedroom window and they grabbed her pulled her back in tied her up to her bed and ransacked the house for about two and a half hours.”
PBSO later found the victims’ car located nearby. It is unclear whether all of the stolen items were still inside the vehicle.
PBSO is now asking for the public’s help to catch the suspects which remain at large. Crime Stoppers is offering a $3,000 reward.
