Suspect who fled Porsche in double fatality hit-and-run arrested
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says they have found the man they believe was the driver who caused and then fled a deadly crash on Swain Boulevard and Second Street on December 23. The accident resulted in the death of two West Palm Beach men who were passengers in the other vehicle.
According to reports, Jaherald Saint Dic, age 24, left behind the silver 2013 Porsche Panamera he was driving. At the time of impact, the Porsche ran a stop sign, had no headlights, and was moving at a high rate of speed.
PBSO arrested Saint Dic on Monday.
A local business’ video surveillance captured the Porsche’s terrible crash with a Honda that killed Juan Hernandez, 29, and Angel Xon, 47.
The Honda had five occupants; the driver sustained minor injuries. The two men were thrown from the vehicle and died instantly. Two additional female passengers had severe injuries.
The Porsche had three female passengers along with Saint Dic. After impact, all four occupants took off running.
Police caught the three women, but it would take more information from the female passengers before they finally found Saint Dic living in a Green Acres apartment. They also told investigators that Saint Dic was driving over 100 miles per hour before the crash and was aware that the police were behind them, but chose not to stop.
Prior to the fatal crash, a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s officer tried to stop Saint Dic for a traffic stop.
Saint Dic’s driver’s license had been revoked after a previous arrest on charges of fleeing and eluding a police officer.
His charges from the accident include vehicular homicide, reckless driving and failing to stop at a crash involving death, according to arrest reports.
During a court hearing Tuesday bonds totaling $1.3 million were set.
