Drake films video for “God’s Plan” at Miami Senior High, Drops Big Check at Miami University too
Students at Miami Senior High got a major surprise when they learned that hip hop sensation Drake was shooting his new music video at their school. The star showed up on Monday to begin filming for his single “God’s Plan.” The hit is currently number one on Billboard’s Top 100.
But the actor/rapper/hip hop artist had more than a music video on his agenda; he donated $25 thousand to the school before leaving. To top it off, the fashion forward figure announced that he was giving OVO designed uniforms to all students.
Some lucky high schoolers had the chance to appear as extras while Drake filmed in the school hallways, on the baseball field, and from a crane over the school grounds. A drone captured some of the footage.
As if the trip to Miami Senior High was not enough, Drake made an appearance at the University of Miami in the Donna E. Shalala Student Center. There, the superstar awarded biology student Destiny James with a $50 thousand scholarship.
The singer also known as Drizzy held a surprise performance for a crowd on the Moss Terrace. Students, faculty, and other fortunate attendees were thrilled with the rapper’s concert.
Some who were at the impromptu events of the day reported that Drake announced he would be dropping a new album soon, although there’s no official word from Drake’s camp.
