West Palm Beach assisted living facility owner charged with elder abuse

Elder Abuse West Palm Beach

Broodram Parsaram, owner of BP Assisted Living Facility on Wynnewood Drive in West Palm Beach, was arrested on elder abuse charges after sheriff’s deputies visited the home early Friday morning. According to reports, Parsaram had left residents unattended and at least one 90-year-old woman was restrained to her bed with bed sheets.

The six-bed facility was already under fire from the state agency after an inspection at the end of February found several violations including: a failure by staff to conduct required health assessments for residents; a staff member administering medicine without washing her hands; and the failure to submit employee names for required background checks.

Parsaram appeared in court Saturday. The judge ordered him held on $2,000 bond and to have no contact with his victims. The man posted bond less than 24-hours after his arrest.

An investigation between the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office and the state’s Agency for Health Care Administration show BP Assisted Living Facility has been licensed since 2001 and has operated from the same location on Wynnewood drive ever since.
